Sanctuary NYC in a Nutshell

Just sent this NEW brochure to the printer!!!

As you may already know, the idea for Sanctuary NYC was conceived by a group of friends and world travelers who spent many years of their lives in India. The goal was to offer travelers a retreat-like stay and share with them a little of that rich culture and spirituality of the East, such as yoga, meditation, charity, philosophy and an over-all healthy life style. These concepts, of course, have now become very popular are being embraced by people all over the world as an alternative to a better and more peaceful way of living.

With that in mind we created Stanton Street Yoga and Food for Life @ Tompkins Square Park. Stanton Street Yoga offers daily yoga, meditation classes along with health and wellness workshops. The studio also doubles up as a space for acoustic live music throughout the year. All these are complimentary to our guests.

Food for Life serves about 120 free meals to our neighbors at the legendary Tompkins Square Park three days a week all year round, come rain or shine. It is a unique, life-changing experience and those guests who participate always leave NYC feeling humbled, fulfilled and rewarded.

Among our local and international affiliations are: The Bhakti Center, a nonprofit cultural center dedicated to sharing the experience of self-transformation as explored through literature, art, drama, music and dance. Food for Life - Vrindavan, a humanitarian aid organization that works in poor and underprivileged villages south of New Delhi, India. Last but not least, Festival of India, a multimedia touring festival that promotes India's ancient spiritual culture through live theater, dance and music performances all over North America.

In a nutshell, that is who we are and what we do. We love our guests and try to ensure that they have a wonderful stay with us. At the same time, we try to give back to the local and global community as much as we can. As the Muhammad Ali once said:

"Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth"
